Departmental Awards for Undergraduate Students


This Spring there will be a new scholarship awarded in honor of Bob Weiskopf. The amount has yet to be determined and details will be provided as soon as we get them

There are 8 existing scholarships the Department of Psychology awards to undergraduate students.

  • Cheryl Burnham Buhler Award - $1000
  • J.R. Kantor Prize - $500
  • James Dinsmoor Prize - $250
  • 5 Excellence in Research Awards - $100 each

Some of these awards require nomination by a faculty member or researcher. For more information about these scholarships, please email Cindy Moore.



University Awards for Undergraduate Students


IU Foundation Scholarships
Foundation Website
The IU Foundation offers a wide variety of scholarships to undergraduates. Awards range from a few hundred dollars to full tuition with stipend. Applications are available December 1st and due March 1st. No faculty nomination is required

Jesse H. and Buelah Chanley Cox Scholarship
Cox Scholarship
This annual award is given to 14 outstanding IUB sophomores or juniors who work part-time and perform well academically. The award covers 75 percent of tuition and is only available to Indiana residents. Applications are available January 9th and due March 1st.

Hudson & Holland Scholarships
Hudson Holland Scholars Program This award is available to both incoming and current students. The scholarship is merit based but preference is given to students from underrepresented minority backgrounds whose presence will enhance diversity at Indiana University

Herman B. Wells Scholarship
Wells Scholars Program
Wells Scholars receive all necessary tuition and fees as well as a living stipend for four years of study at Indiana University. This scholarship is only available to high school students who have applied to Indiana University
